About me

I am Roshan Praveen Shetty, a rising junior majoring in Computer Science, at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I am passionate about front and back end development, and the applications of computer vision in various fields.

I love learning new languages while making sure that I am strengthening the ones I know. I am currently building a Flutter application with the use of Firebase for the backend section for the UMass Design Club. I am building it in order to increase interactivity for the club and give a platform for everyone to post their work. I have mentioned it in the projects section of my portfolio where I have attached the link to my GitHub where you can see how the application currently looks like in the README section.

Web Design

As a web designer I create the look, layout, and features of a website. The job involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming.

Web Development

As a web developer,I build, create, and maintain websites. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web programming, and database management.

Photography

With a passion for photography, I try to take photos that capture the very nature we are surrounded but neglect. I take meaningful pictures of various genres

App Creation

With a new found passion for app creation, I strive to make multiplatform applications that would contribute to society and have a postive impact regardless of the size

Backend Developing

As a back-end developer I'm usually responsible for writing the web services and APIs used by front-end developers and mobile application developers.

Computer Vision

As a developer who works with computer vision. It will be used for a mutlitude of purposes starting from daily household to industry level machines.

Hear Me
Computer Vision / November, 2019

Hear Me is a web application made at HackHolyoke (2019) using Python that converts real time images to text to speech through the webcam using OpenCV and google APIs and is equipped with speech recognition.

CodePad

Desktop Application / May, 2020

CodePad is a text editor exactly like Notepad built using only Python. It has features such as Dark Mode and a format code feature is currently being developed enabling users to format their code according to the language they are writing it in.

Lensstop
Website / October, 2019

Lensstop is a photography website built using HTML, CSS, and Javascript that showcases my photos. It showcases 5 pages: Home, About, Portfolio, Shop, and Contact. It is responsive so it can viewed on any device that you want.

PhotoWall
Andriod Application / May, 2020

PhotoWall is a wallpaper application built using Flutter that uses PexelsAPI to extract stock free images from the Pexels website in portrait mode and allows users to download these photos.

UMassDesign
Andriod Application / May, 2020

UMassDesign is a Flutter application that is built for the UMass Design Club. It was built in order to increase interactivity for the club and give a platform for everyone to post their work.

DishSaver
Web Application / December, 2020

DishSaver is an Ainteractive web application allowing communication between NGOs (Non-profit organizations) and UMass Dining Commons about provision of leftover food from restarurants, etc which would otherwise be wasted.
